St. George High School Wangkhei was an institution under the Archdiocese of Imphal. The diocese sought the collaboration of F.C.C. sisters for the running of St. George School Wangkhei. Accordingly Rev. Sr. Annie Alphonse was appointed as the headmistress from 1994 onwards. After 10 years, seeing the good fruits and the progress in the school, the Archbishop was happy to entrust the Clarist sisters, the mission at Wangkhei. We accepted this mission, in fulfillment of and in loyalty to the particular spirit of evangelization and with the desire of collaborating in the work of building up the church in the archdiocese. The house was blessed on 2nd March 2004 by Most Rev. Archbishop Joseph Mittathany and sisters started to stay there. The first members were: Sr. Annie Alphonse, Sr. Mary Vellamundayil and Sr. Maria. We keep a few apostolic girls with us and they are studying in the School. Beside that  boarders also started to stay in the convent. This is a help to promote local vocations.
