Description

A felt need of the mission was the formation of the girls in the mission itself, with the idea of opening chances for the locals to embrace religious life. With this in mind a formation house was built at Tuibuang and the late Bishop Abraham Elangimattathil blessed it on February 10, 1979.

The first batch of Novitiate began in 1985 with four novices. On March 28th, 1987 all four of them were vested and made their first profession in the Good Shepherd parish, Churachandpur. Sr. Maria Chinglun is the first sister professed, hailing from the parish of Sugnu, Archdiocese of  Imphal.

On 4th March 1991, Rev. Mother Celerina and Sr. Gonsagus reached Imphal for the erection of the region. Rev. Mother Benjamin, the provincial of Bharananganam Rev. Sr. Ann Tresa, Sr. Anslem, Rev. Mother Pious, the provincial of Pala, Rev. Mother Romuald and Sr. Jacinta from Pala and Sr. Ambrosia and Sr. Celine from Punjab came to take part in the courageous step taken by the Mission.
After the erection of the Region in 1991, the first regional Chapter   held in Sugnu.  Rev. Sr. Aloshia was elected as  the first regional Superior and Sr. Mary Rose, Sr. Hubert, Sr. Annie Porunnolil and Sr. Annie Alphonse the first councilors and Sr. Tomsy as Regional Treasurer and secretary.  Assisi Home was the Mother house for FCC and many Retreats and courses were conducted for the missionary sisters in this house.
